Our Wedding

Before Cory ever met Lyly, his students were already obsessed with her. She was just supposed to sub for the last month of school while he was away on leave butfast forward a few months and surprise they were assigned to teach together. Cory and Lyly, in the same classroom, five days a week.From day one, their teamwork made sense. What started as co-teaching turned into best friends and a lot more.Helping with Sophia. Chasing chickens around the school. Driving across town for races. Tag-teaming class camping trips. Even trying (and very quickly retiring) beekeeping.Somewhere between lesson planning and late-night grocery runs, they just worked. There were kitchen disasters, school event chaos, a ton of laughter, and if you know Cory and Lyly- lots of competition. (They do keep score.) But through it all, they kept showing up for each other. Every day. In every way.Now, three years later, they’re living in Arizona with Sophia, building their life and planning their next adventure, this wedding. They've been a team since day one, and now it’s forever official.

Flying in is easy! Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the main airport serving the area and is just 15 minutes from the Desert Botanical Garden and most major hotels. PHX offers direct flights from many cities, making travel convenient for our guests. Transportation Options:🚗 Rental Cars – Ideal for exploring Phoenix and nearby attractions. PHX has an easy-to-access rental car center. 🚕 Rideshares &amp; Taxis – Uber and Lyft are readily available and an easy way to get to the venue, your hotel, and around the city. 🚊 Valley Metro Light Rail &amp; Public Transit – If you’re staying downtown, the light rail is an easy way to get around. Wedding Venue: There’s on-site parking for guests, and rideshares can easily drop off and pick up at the entrance.

It’s walkable, welcoming, and filled with art, culture, and desert sunshine, perfect for our favorite kind of day.

If you want to soak in Arizona’s iconic desert beauty without making the long drive to Sedona, Lost Dutchman State Park is a perfect option! Just a 30-minute drive from Phoenix, this hidden gem sits at the base of the stunning Superstition Mountains. It’s ideal for hiking, scenic views, and gorgeous photo ops. Whether you're up for a quick stroll or a more adventurous trail, it's a peaceful desert escape that's totally worth a visit — no road trip required.

Lost Dutchman State Park

This vibrant area in downtown Phoenix is home to stunning murals, local artist galleries, and unique shops, offering a taste of the city's creative culture.

Roosevelt Row Arts District

Located near our wedding venue, this easy hike leads to a natural rock formation with incredible views. It is perfect for a sunset photo-op and a glimpse of the Sonoran Desert’s beauty.

Hole in the Rock

Just a 2-hour drive from Phoenix, Sedona’s red rock landscapes, vortex sites, and scenic hikes make for an unforgettable adventure. We highly recommend Sedona in general! If you're looking for somewhere more affordable to stay, Cottonwood is a cute town only 20 minutes away from it.

Cathedral Rock

For an unforgettable outdoor experience, kayak or float down the Salt River, where you may spot wild horses roaming along the banks.

Salt River Rafting

Downtown Gilbert, also known as the Heritage District, is full of charm, great food, and local character. Just a short drive from Phoenix, this walkable neighborhood has everything from cozy coffee shops and farm-to-table restaurants to trendy bars and weekend markets. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite, stroll around, or enjoy a relaxed night out. If you're in town for the wedding, it's definitely worth a visit!
